Etymology of the Graphic
Honeydew melons are one of the renowned fruit produce of the Hokkaido region.
One such type of melon famously sold in Japan is the Yubari Melon from the town of Yubari. Careful planting and cultivation ensured its well-known "perfect spherical" shape and it comes with a taste often described as heavenly...all of which in exchange for a premium, of course.
The graphic of the Coin is holographic. It depicts Jibanyan serving a wedge-sliced honeydew melon on a plate. The background is yellow green and depicts a whole honeydew melon.
There are two face text in this graphic: The first face text reads "Hokkaido" which is set on a yellow font color with a black stroke. Hokkaido is written in horizontal Kanji with Furigana above and is placed on the topmost of the image.
The second face text reads "Melon" which is set on a light orange font color with a black stroke. Melon is written in vertical Katakana and is arched on the right side of the graphic.
